Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data PinnedWorld ("we", "us") collects and how we use it. We try to collect as little as possible.

Using PinnedWorld without an account

You can use the map fully anonymously. The countries and cities you mark are stored locally in your own browser and are not sent to us unless you choose to create an account to sync them.

Accounts & sync

If you sign in, we store your email address and the places you've marked so we can sync them across your devices. Accounts and this data are handled through Supabase, our database and authentication provider. You can delete your account and data at any time by contacting us.

Payments

Optional premium is sold through Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record. Paddle processes your payment and billing details — we never see or store your card information. We only receive confirmation of a purchase in order to unlock premium features. See Paddle's own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.

Affiliate links

Some pages contain affiliate links to travel partners (GetYourGuide, Booking.com, Airalo). If you click one and make a booking or purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and the partner may set their own cookies. Those partners' privacy policies govern any data they collect.

Analytics & cookies

We do not currently run third-party advertising or analytics trackers. Cookies and local storage are used only for essential functionality — keeping you signed in and remembering your map. Affiliate partners may set their own cookies as described above.

Data retention & your rights

We keep account data until you ask us to delete it. You may request access to, or deletion of, your data at any time — email hello@pinnedworld.com.

Children

PinnedWorld is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Hosting

The app is hosted on Vercel and data is stored with Supabase; your data may be processed on their infrastructure, which can be located in other countries.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
